Key Responsibilities
As a Paint Prepper, your precision is what ensures a perfect final product. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Meticulously preparing vehicle panels and parts for painting by sanding, masking, and taping to protect adjacent surfaces.
- Thoroughly cleaning and degreasing all surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion and a contamination-free finish.
- Mixing and applying primers, sealers, and undercoats precisely according to manufacturer technical specifications.
- Inspecting every prepared surface for flaws, smoothing imperfections, and ensuring it meets our strict quality standards before it moves to the paint booth.
- Performing nibbing and polishing on painted surfaces to address any minor imperfections after the paint has cured.
- Maintaining an exceptionally clean, safe, and organized prep area and workspace.
- Collaborating effectively with painters and body technicians to maintain an efficient workflow and meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable team player with a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in auto body repair, with a specific focus on paint preparation (prep) work.
- A strong understanding of surface preparation techniques and the importance of each step in the painting process.
- The ability to follow technical instructions and work with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- A self-motivated work ethic and the ability to manage your tasks within a team-driven schedule.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly workspace.
