Key Responsibilities

As an apprentice, you will be an integral part of our workshop and project teams, learning the trade through direct involvement. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting qualified boilermakers and welders in the fabrication, assembly, and construction of structural steel components for major industrial projects.
  • Learning and applying safe workshop practices, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment under supervision.
  • Reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Performing tasks related to cutting, grinding, fitting, and preparing metal materials.
  • Contributing to maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment in our Capel workshop.
  • Actively participating in on-the-job training and formal off-the-job training to work towards your trade certificate.

Qualifications

We are looking for motivated individuals with a strong desire to learn a trade. You will need:

  • A keen and genuine interest in completing a trade and becoming a qualified Boilermaker/Welder.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to thrive in a team environment.
  • A valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Proof of the right to work in Australia.
  • Residency in or near Capel, WA is highly advantageous.
  • While not mandatory, completion of a Pre-Apprenticeship (Certificate II in Engineering) or any prior experience in a workshop or fabrication environment is beneficial.
