Bus Driver at Claremont Elementary Required In Taiwan

A unique opportunity exists for a dedicated individual to serve students in a dual role as Teacher Assistant and Bus Driver. This full-time, temporary position combines classroom support with student transportation, offering variety and the chance to make a meaningful impact on young lives. The role is based in a school setting . As a Teacher Assistant, you will support classroom instruction, provide individualized attention to students, and help maintain a positive learning environment. As a Bus Driver, you will safely transport students to and from school, ensuring their well-being during transit. Key Responsibilities

Teacher Assistant

  • Provide group and individualized instruction as prescribed by the teacher.

  • Monitor work assigned by teacher, checking and correcting students’ work while in progress.

  • Keep students on task, praising and reinforcing achievement.

  • Report student progress to the teacher.

  • Arrange classroom furnishings and equipment, prepare visual aids, and duplicate materials.

  • Serve as a substitute teacher when needed.

  • Score students’ papers and distribute instructional materials.

  • Record student behavior and file data according to regulatory requirements.

  • Supervise students in the classroom and other locations.

  • Promote positive behavior, teach social skills, and reconcile minor student conflicts.

  • Discipline misbehavior through approved methods and report concerns to teacher or principal.

  • Participate in staff development workshops.

Bus Driver

  • Drive bus safely to destination and return, conforming to traffic rules and regulations.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, recording and reporting malfunctions.

  • Follow school district regulations for handling vehicle breakdowns and accident incidents.

  • Keep the bus clean and well-maintained.

  • Follow assigned bus routes, picking up and dropping off students at designated times and stops.

  • Ensure students depart the bus at their usual stops and that all students leave the bus at both ends of the route.

  • Monitor students’ behavior while on the bus, resolving incidents and reporting inappropriate behavior.

  • Take responsibility for the safe transportation of students.

Qualifications

Teacher Assistant

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Minimum of 48 hours of college-level coursework with a GPA of 2.0 or higher, OR WorkKeys Certification including Business Writing.

  • Two years of experience working with children preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with parents, schools, and district personnel.

  • Willingness to undergo further training as required.

  • Experience using a computer.

Bus Driver

  • Five (5) years of responsible driving experience required.

  • Completion of the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Bus Driver Training Course required.

  • Must pass the required DOT Physical examination and have a DOT Drug Screen with negative results.

  • Must be eligible to hold a Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Ability to work under average levels of stress.
