About the Role
This is a casual labouring position within Fitzroy River Water, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work across a range of construction and maintenance projects. You’ll be part of a team dedicated to delivering critical infrastructure services, performing a diverse set of tasks from general labouring to operating machinery. The role is based in Rockhampton and pays a highly competitive casual rate.
Your Key Responsibilities
You’ll be the backbone of our field operations, tackling a wide variety of essential tasks.
- Perform general labouring duties across various water and sewerage infrastructure project sites.
- Assist with construction and maintenance tasks, including concreting, mowing, and site preparation.
- Safely operate council vehicles, machinery, and a variety of hand tools as required.
- Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on water and sewerage assets.
- Work collaboratively within a team, following all safety protocols and identifying on-site hazards.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety in all tasks and a willingness to learn all aspects of the team’s work.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious professional with a solid labouring background.
- A strong labouring background, preferably with experience in a general construction and maintenance environment. Experience in water-sewerage services is highly desirable.
- A valid White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
- A positive, customer-focused attitude and the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
- A strong safety focus with the ability to identify and manage hazards and risks on a worksite.
- Enjoyment of physical, outdoor work and a willingness to be flexible with tasks and locations.
- This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Australia Wide Name Only Police Check.
