Key Responsibilities
In this essential kitchen role, you will be involved in the entire food preparation process. Your daily duties will include:
- Preparing a variety of ingredients: cutting vegetables, meat, poultry, and fish, and preparing sauces, spices, and marinades according to standard recipes.
- Assisting in the production of soups (like Bak Kut Teh) and making gyoza, including preparing the filling and operating machinery to make gyoza skins.
- Receiving, storing, and organizing food products in designated areas, and packing finished goods for storage.
- Baking items such as tarts and assisting with general kitchen operations as needed.
- Thoroughly cleaning all equipment, tools, and work areas, and disposing of waste properly.
- Strictly adhering to all food safety, hygiene policies, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of primary school education. Previous F&B experience is an advantage but not required—training will be provided.
- A valid WSQ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent).
- A positive, hardworking attitude and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to work in warm, humid, oily, and cold environments, and the ability to lift and carry heavy goods.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays as required by the production schedule.
- A strong commitment to maintaining a clean, hygienic, and tidy kitchen at all times.
