Key Responsibilities

As the Salon Manager, you will oversee both the artistic and operational success of the grooming salon. Your key duties will include:

  • Performing high-quality, full-service grooms on all breeds, including clipping, scissoring, and styling, maintaining a personal output of 6-8 grooms per day.
  • Leading, training, and mentoring other groomers and bathers to develop their skills and ensure consistent service quality.
  • Managing all salon operations, including customer consultations, accurate quoting, booking schedules, inventory ordering, and daily financial reconciliation.
  • Providing exceptional customer service, building lasting relationships with clients, and handling their pets with expert care and patience.
  • Ensuring the salon maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance.
  • Driving commercial performance through effective service promotion and team leadership to meet salon targets.

Qualifications

To thrive in this leadership role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional pet grooming experience, with proven expertise in handling and styling all breed types unassisted.
  • Advanced knowledge of grooming techniques, coat types, breed standards, and safe animal handling practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in salon operations, including client management, booking systems, and basic administrative tasks.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a small team effectively.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a genuine passion for animal welfare.
  • The willingness to complete a two-hour practical grooming trial as part of the recruitment process.

A formal qualification such as a Certificate III in Pet Grooming is highly regarded, and we offer support for the right candidate to obtain this.
