Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will blend teaching, coaching, and leadership to elevate our educational delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the consistent delivery of education across both the Hair To Train Academy and our Futures Programme.
- Teaching directly within the Academy, role-modelling best-practice techniques and engaging, student-centred instruction.
- Providing dedicated support to the Futures Programme delivery every Monday during term time.
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing our team of tutors to enhance their delivery and foster high-quality, practical learning environments.
- Supporting robust moderation and assessment processes to ensure consistency and quality across all programmes.
- Actively contributing to a dynamic learning culture that builds student confidence and ensures graduates are truly industry-ready.
Qualifications
We are looking for a leader who brings both industry expertise and educational insight. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A substantial background as a qualified hair professional with current, in-depth industry knowledge.
- Proven experience in education, training, or mentoring within the hair, beauty, or a related trades sector.
- Confidence in leading, coaching, and supporting fellow educators to achieve excellence.
- A strong belief in and understanding of practical, hands-on learning methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build strong relationships with tutors and students.
- A relevant assessor or adult teaching qualification (e.g., NZ Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching) is highly desirable, or a demonstrated willingness to work towards one.
