Key Responsibilities

As a valued Home Care Employee, you will be the face of IRT’s compassionate service. Your day will involve providing tailored support that promotes well-being, including:

  • Assisting customers with personal care, including showering and grooming, with respect and dignity.
  • Helping with meal preparation, cooking, and light domestic tasks to support a healthy lifestyle at home.
  • Providing safe transport and companionship for social outings, appointments, and errands.
  • Building positive relationships and providing meaningful companionship to support mental and emotional well-being.
  • Empowering customers to engage in their preferred activities and maintain their independence.

Qualifications

We are looking for empathetic individuals who meet the following criteria for this Grade Three role:

  • A relevant Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 500 hours of professional experience in a home care or aged care setting.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence, a fully insured car, and a Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency in a second language is a valuable bonus.
  • The resilience to work independently, a reliable nature, and availability for shifts Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with some weekend work.
  • Above all, a genuine kindness, empathy, and passion for supporting older people.
