Key Responsibilities

  • Process, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident linens, personal clothing, and facility textiles according to established procedures and infection control standards.
  • Label resident clothing items accurately and deliver finished articles to appropriate rooms or storage areas.
  • Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels of linens and communicate replenishment needs to supervisory staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary laundry work area, including equipment and storage spaces.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper handling of soiled linens and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Complete basic computer documentation as required for workload tracking, supply management, or incident reporting.
  • Work independently during assigned shifts, managing time and tasks effectively without direct supervision.
  • Respond to special requests from care units or residents with courtesy and attention to individual needs.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent recognized standing.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Basic computer skills for documentation, communication, and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Knowledge and Abilities:
