Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques, ensuring secure handling of goods.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines.
- Deliver packages and freight directly to customers’ locations, providing excellent customer service with professionalism and courtesy.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and load/unload records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes.
Qualifications
- Valid DOT driver’s license with a clean driving record and experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Proven delivery driver experience with knowledge of route driving best practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, heavy lifting, moving equipment, forklift operation, and pallet jacks preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.
- Ability to perform manual transmission driving is a plus.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, loading/unloading cargo, and extended periods of driving.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial driving and cargo handling.
