Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end welding process on critical components. Your core duties will include:
- Operating orbital welding equipment to join stainless steel tubes and associated components with a high degree of precision and consistency.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to determine the correct welding parameters and setup.
- Assisting with the fit-up, alignment, and site installation of piping systems as part of the project team.
- Supporting non-destructive testing (NDT), hydrostatic, and tolerance tests to verify weld integrity and ensure all work meets project specifications.
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping in your work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored safely and the workspace is clean.
- Performing welding duties in various challenging conditions, including confined spaces or during required outdoor work.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the right blend of technical skill and a professional attitude. The successful applicant will have:
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant welding experience, with a strong foundation in TIG welding techniques.
- Practical, hands-on experience with orbital welding equipment and processes is highly valued.
- The ability to read and work from technical drawings and engineering specifications accurately.
- A meticulous and reliable work ethic, with the ability to manage pressure and maintain organization on the job.
- Basic communication skills in English to understand instructions and report on work progress.
- A minimum of Secondary 3 education. While an Orbital Welding certificate or BCSS is advantageous, we strongly encourage candidates with proven experience to apply, as we provide sponsored training for the right individual.
