Here is an opportunity for an experienced Laundry Attendant to join a hotel laundry team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We are seeking someone with 7 months to less than 1 year of experience to handle the finishing, folding, and chemical processing of linens and garments. This role involves operating steam presses, hand ironing fine linens, and ensuring every article meets establishment standards. What You Will Be Doing
- You will mix and add detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches, and other solutions and chemicals according to established procedures.
- You will hand fold and bag shirts, sheets, and other articles with care and precision.
- You will hand iron laundered fine linens or dry-cleaned silk garments to a professional standard.
- You will operate finishing equipment such as steam presses, and use hand irons to finish pants, jackets, shirts, skirts, and other dry-cleaned and laundered articles.
- You will check finished dry-cleaned or laundered articles to ensure they meet establishment standards.
- You will record any damage or improper cleaning or laundering of articles, reporting issues as needed.
- You will work in a hot, noisy, and wet/damp environment, handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- You will perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods, working under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- You will maintain attention to detail and hand-eye coordination throughout your shift.
- You will work various shifts including early morning, morning, day, evening, night, and weekends as required.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in laundry or dry cleaning.
- Criminal record check clearance.
- Authorization to work in Canada.
