Key Responsibilities
Your day will be active and structured, working closely with your driver to complete the route safely and thoroughly.
- Partner with the Residential Driver to collect waste and recycling from homes according to the daily route sheet and sequence.
- Assist in performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is clean, safe, and ready for service.
- Use clear hand signals to communicate effectively with your driver, especially when the vehicle is in reverse or in tight spaces.
- Help identify new stops or address changes on the route, noting any issues or updates in our routing software.
- Provide courteous and professional service to residents at all times, representing the company positively.
- Be available and prepared to work on weekends and holidays as needed for scheduled shifts.
Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates who bring a strong work ethic and the ability to learn quickly.
- The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
- Basic math skills and a demonstrated aptitude for using computers or handheld devices for simple tasks.
- A commitment to safety protocols and a willingness to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Reliability and a professional attitude, with a focus on productivity and courteous customer interaction.
- A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but a proven track record of reliability and hard work is highly valued.
