Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be out on farms and in the workshop, making sure our farmers’ technology runs smoothly.
- Your main focus will be servicing, maintaining, and installing modern dairy equipment like automatic cup removers, milk meters, and drafting systems.
- You’ll need to troubleshoot issues effectively, using strong fault-finding skills to diagnose mechanical and basic electrical problems.
- There will be opportunities for fabrication work, using MIG welding to create or repair brackets, stands, and other mild steel components.
- You’ll work closely with our team and directly with farmers, requiring clear communication to explain issues and solutions.
- Managing your schedule, maintaining a company vehicle, and accurately completing job documentation are all part of the daily routine.
Qualifications
We are looking for a practical, reliable person who is ready to learn. Here are the essentials:
- A solid technical or mechanical ability, proven through hands-on trade experience, farm work, or a similar field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical mindset for fixing things.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well both independently on the road and as part of the workshop team.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence is mandatory.
- To be eligible for this role, you must be a New Zealand citizen.
- While not mandatory, any experience with dairy equipment, basic welding, or a familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems would be a significant advantage.
