This position requires a seasoned professional with over 5 years of expertise in custom fabrication and equipment repair, working with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Key Responsibilities
In this senior role, you will be responsible for handling complex projects from interpretation to completion. Your key duties will include:
- Reading and interpreting detailed welding blueprints, drawings, and process specifications to guide fabrication and repair work.
- Operating manual and semi-automatic welding, brazing, and soldering machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
- Using flame-cutting and oxygen arc cutting (arc-air) equipment for material preparation and modification.
- Operating metal shaping machinery such as brakes, shears, and hoisting equipment safely and effectively.
- Performing custom fabrication and repairs on a wide variety of items, including structural components, machinery, stairs, railings, and balconies.
- Ensuring all work meets high standards of quality, precision, and safety.
Qualifications
This role requires a candidate with substantial, demonstrable experience. The essentials are:
- A minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a Welder-Fabricator.
- A secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in French is required for this role.
- Extensive experience with both steel/iron and non-ferrous materials.
- Mastery of reading technical drawings and operating arc welding, brazing, and cutting equipment.
- Excellent physical capability for demanding, repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.
- Must have own reliable transportation and basic personal safety equipment (steel-toed boots, hard hat, welding helmet).
- Strong personal suitability: must be organized, a team player, and possess excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
