What you will do on a daily basis
- Lead installation tasks such as cable pulls, terminations, rack fabrication, and system equipment mounting based on project scope
- Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints to guide your team
- Use hand and power tools to solder, crimp connectors, and complete metal fabrication work
- Test point to point cabling and system functionality, then field load control and DSP code as needed
- Act as the customer liaison on site, directing change requests to the project manager for approval
- Track all equipment and tools on the jobsite, managing return material authorizations when necessary
- Train clients on system use and support engineers with minor programming changes
Qualifications required
High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. You must have six to eight years of audiovisual or electronics installation experience. Fluency in both Japanese and English is required for this position because you will communicate with local clients and global teams. You need advanced knowledge of low voltage cabling including HDMI, CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic. Proficiency in reading blueprints and using test equipment is essential. A valid CTS I certification is strongly preferred. A CDL license is a plus but not required.
Salary and benefits
The expected monthly salary for this role in Japan ranges from 450,000 to 550,000 Japanese Yen based on your experience level and certifications. This is a full time position with travel to various job sites.
