What you will do as a Simulator Technician
- Perform standard simulator support activities including daily checks and system monitoring
- Make configuration changes to flight training devices and verify proper operation after each change
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical subsystems and hydraulic components with little to no assistance
- Monitor simulator performance to ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards
- Complete basic tasks associated with the Qualification Test Guide
- Report any safety hazards in the work area or equipment following company safety directives
- Recommend needed parts and materials for simulator repair and support
Qualifications required
An associate degree in electronics from a college or completion of a civilian or military electronics technical school is strongly preferred. You need one to three years of experience in electronics or a related technical field. Familiarity with governing regulations for flight training device operation is important. You must be accountable, detail oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills are essential. Safety awareness and the ability to collaborate with a team are also required. Physical demands include using hands to handle components, reaching, communicating, and occasionally standing or walking. The work environment noise level is low to moderate.
