What you will do on a daily basis
- Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints to guide your service work
- Perform preventative maintenance visits to keep client environments stable and reliable
- Clean audiovisual equipment including camera lenses, monitors, and equipment fans
- Field install control programs for AMX, Crestron, and firmware updates with upload and download capability
- Provide service support for networked devices such as routers and IP protocols
- Pull cable, install connectors, mount projectors, and hang ceiling mounts as needed
- Set up and troubleshoot various video codecs, then train clients and less senior technicians
Qualifications required
Fluency in both Japanese and English is mandatory because you will communicate with local clients and the global helpdesk. You need the ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Basic computer knowledge and an understanding of signal flow for audio, video, and control are essential. You must be able to manage small to medium projects and solder or crimp connectors. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with two to four years of audiovisual integration experience. Formal education in electronics or a related field is a plus. Familiarity with AMX networking essentials, Crestron professional installation, Extron introductory knowledge, or AVIXA CTS General Certification is also nice to have.
Salary and benefits
The expected monthly salary for this Field Service Technician role in Japan ranges from 380,000 to 480,000 Japanese Yen based on your experience and certifications.
