Key Responsibilities
- Drive a forklift to perform basic materials handling and shrink wrapping of finished products.
- Check products for accuracy in inventory and damage, completing paperwork or data entry as required.
- Pick, store, and load stock as trained or directed, moving materials from facilities to workstations or pick up locations.
- Unload incoming trucks and check orders against delivery dockets, and load outgoing trucks with customer orders.
- Maintain storage areas in a safe and tidy manner, ensuring all aisles and racks are clean and organised.
- Perform other forklift operations as requested by supervisors, adapting to changing production needs.
- Participate in setting Good Manufacturing Practice standards, ensuring the plant is tidy and clean.
What You Need to Qualify
A current forklift ticket and industry experience are required. Previous experience operating a forklift within food manufacturing is highly desirable. Twin tyne experience is also highly desirable. You must have a hands on attitude and the ability to make fast objective decisions based on facts and data. Sound communication skills both written and verbal are essential. You must be physically fit and healthy for manual handling tasks. To be eligible to apply, you must have an appropriate Australian or New Zealand work visa. No formal degree is required. A strong attention to detail and commitment to safety are critical.
