Key Responsibilities

As a Utility Technician, you will provide essential support to ensure our power generation facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Your primary duties will include:

  • Performing repair and maintenance work on buildings, grounds, doors, walls, windows, and lighting, including painting throughout the power block.
  • Executing minor rigging, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, and handling insulation and related materials in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Providing general labor to support all aspects of building and facility maintenance.
  • Managing tool room responsibilities, including the secure issuance, tracking, and maintenance of tools and test equipment.
  • Safely operating a forklift as required for various job tasks.
  • Working independently or as part of a team under the direction of a Lead Technician or Supervisor, following all prescribed procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Ensuring all work is performed with a safety-first mindset, resulting in zero accidents and full compliance with all environmental permits.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a solid technical foundation and a proven commitment to safety in an industrial setting. The minimum qualifications are:

  • Ability to obtain unescorted nuclear access (required for work at nuclear generation facilities).
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and travel to various power plant locations as needed.
  • The ability to successfully complete the company’s comprehensive Utility Technician training program.
  • Previous power plant experience or direct industrial maintenance experience in one of the following areas: HVAC, scaffolding installation/removal, or tool room operations.

And you must meet one of the following three criteria:

  1. Satisfactory completion of the U.S. Navy Nuclear program OR
  2. A two-year Associate’s Degree in a technical field or completion of a post-secondary trade school program OR
  3. A High School Diploma combined with relevant industrial training and hands-on experience.
