Key Responsibilities
As the face of mail delivery in your assigned area, your daily duties will center on accuracy and dependability.
- Deliver mail and packages to homes and businesses along a planned rural route in all weather conditions.
- Sort mail into delivery sequence each morning at the assigned post office location.
- Safely load your vehicle with mail and parcels organized for efficient delivery.
- Obtain necessary signatures for accountable mail and collect outgoing mail from roadside boxes.
- Complete required administrative tasks and maintain accurate records of your deliveries.
- Operate your personal vehicle responsibly and safely throughout your assigned route.
Qualifications
We’re looking for responsible individuals who meet these essential criteria for the role:
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record from the past two years.
- Able to pass a comprehensive background check (no felonies in the last 10 years).
- Physically capable of lifting up to 70 lbs and working outdoors in all seasonal conditions.
- Own a reliable, mid-sized SUV or larger vehicle with all-wheel or 4-wheel drive (preferred) that provides at least 120 cubic feet of cargo space.
- Maintain vehicle liability insurance at the required level: $100,000/$500,000/$100,000 or $600,000 CSL.
- Previous delivery or customer service experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic is most important.
