Key Responsibilities
As a Welder at our Miramichi facility, you will be integral to building robust, high-quality machinery. Your primary duties will include:
- Assembling, tacking, and welding pre-fabricated steel parts into finished machines and sub-assemblies using SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW processes.
- Accurately reading and interpreting detailed blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Preparing weld surfaces, determining correct welder settings, and applying proper welds for all positions and materials.
- Verifying weld penetration and aesthetics to ensure top-quality results.
- Safely operating and maintaining welding equipment, ironworkers, band saws, drill presses, and jib/overhead cranes.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area, contributing to our strong safety culture.
Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a solid foundation in welding and a commitment to quality. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Journeyperson Welding certificate (Red Seal or Blue Seal is a strong asset).
- Proven ability to read and work from complex blueprints.
- Experience with SMAW, GMAW, and-or FCAW welding processes.
- A strong, inherent commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and a collaborative team mindset.
- Familiarity with aggregate or heavy equipment is an asset but not required.
