Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be a key technical resource on varied projects, often supporting rope access teams. Your duties will include:
- Performing high-quality welding and fabrication on steel structures, piping, and industrial equipment to precise specifications.
- Working safely at height or in confined spaces as part of a rope access team to complete installations, repairs, and modifications.
- Reading and accurately interpreting engineering blueprints, drawings, and weld procedure specifications.
- Ensuring all work meets or exceeds CWB standards, client requirements, and Pacific Ropes’ stringent safety protocols.
- Maintaining and preparing welding equipment and contributing to a safe, organized worksite.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong industrial background and the right certifications:
- Journeyperson Welder status (Red Seal certification is strongly preferred).
- Valid CWB certifications or equivalent for relevant welding processes.
- Proven experience in structural steel, industrial maintenance, and fabrication.
- Physical fitness and a clear comfort level with working at heights.
- Excellent attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to safety.
- Rope Access certification (IRATA Level 1-3) is a significant asset; willingness to undergo company-sponsored training is required for candidates without it.
