Key Responsibilities

  • Act for employers and employees across a variety of sectors, managing both advisory and contentious matters.
  • Handle cases involving underpayments, award classification, enterprise bargaining strategy, child safety and reportable conduct, employment related privacy and data protection, post employment restraints, and the application of Australian employment laws in overseas jurisdictions.
  • Manage unfair dismissals, general protections, discrimination, bullying and sexual harassment claims, and work health and safety matters.
  • Appear in the Fair Work Commission and other courts and tribunals.
  • Draft contracts, court documents, written advice, and policies with precision and clarity.
  • Maintain direct contact with clients, building strong relationships based on trust and collaboration.
  • Assist the Partner with business development activities that will help build your professional profile.

Qualifications

Candidates must have approximately two years of post admission experience in workplace relations law. Experience working as a lawyer outside of private practice will also be considered. Excellent organisational, critical thinking, drafting, and communication skills are essential. The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a team based environment as well as autonomously is important. An enthusiastic and personable approach with a passion for client service is essential. A desire for continuous development and a commitment to the firm’s values are key.
