Key Responsibilities
- Install a variety of flooring products including laminate, timber, carpet, commercial vinyl, and LVT to high quality standards for residential and commercial clients.
- Prepare surfaces prior to installation ensuring they are clean, level, and suitable for the specific flooring product being installed.
- Measure and cut flooring materials accurately to fit room dimensions and accommodate doorways, corners, and other architectural features.
- Complete installations efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and ensuring finishes meet customer expectations.
- Communicate professionally with clients on site to ensure understanding of project requirements and to address any questions or concerns.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition ensuring all gear is clean, safe, and ready for use.
- Manage time effectively to complete installations within agreed schedules and coordinate with the team on project planning.
- Follow all workplace health and safety practices ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications
Candidates must be qualified or experienced tradespeople with proven experience as a flooring installer. Experience across multiple product types including laminate, timber, carpet, commercial vinyl, and LVT is highly valued. A full clean New Zealand driver licence is mandatory. Candidates must have the right to work in New Zealand. Flexibility in hours may be required from time to time so adaptability and a willingness to accommodate project needs are important. Strong organisational skills and self motivation are critical for success in this role as is a commitment to doing what you say you will every time and on time.
Benefits and Perks
These positions offer competitive hourly rates ranging from NZD 35 to NZD 42 per hour for waged installers with contract rates also available for experienced tradespeople.
