Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise production areas, equipment, floors, walls, amenities, and work surfaces to food safety standards
- Follow strict hygiene and sanitation procedures including Good Manufacturing Practice and HACCP guidelines
- Use and handle cleaning chemicals and tools safely and correctly at all times
- Dispose of waste according to company rules and regulatory requirements
- Support production teams by ensuring a clean and safe working environment every shift
- Report any maintenance, safety, or hygiene issues to supervisors promptly
- Restock consumables, empty bins, replace bin liners, and clean and store tools correctly after use
- Complete cleaning logs, checklists, and sanitation records accurately and on time
- Assist in emergency cleaning or spill response when required
Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar cleaning role or within a food manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. You must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks. Manual handling capability to carry and lift up to 20 kilograms is essential. Good communication skills and a team player attitude are required. Strong attention to detail and reliable attendance are non negotiable. You must have unrestricted Australian work rights. A Working With Children Check is not required for this factory role, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are.
Benefits and Perks
The hourly salary for this permanent day shift position is AUD 32 to AUD 35 per hour based on current market rates for food manufacturing cleaning roles in New South Wales. You will enjoy a regular day off every second Friday, giving you a long weekend on a rotating basis. On site parking is available, and the factory is within walking distance of the train station. You will join a team of three cleaners covering office, factory, warehouse, and maintenance areas. Development opportunities exist for the right candidate who shows initiative. The shift starts flexibly between 7am and 8am and finishes between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, which works well for family or study commitments.
