Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations are up to date, maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Oversee all lost and found procedures, ensuring items are properly logged, stored, and returned to guests when possible.
  • Obtain lists of rooms to be cleaned immediately and lists of prospective check outs or discharges to prepare work assignments efficiently.
  • Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies are available for daily operations.
  • Ensure guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner to support seamless guest arrivals.
  • Work effectively with the Engineering department on guest room maintenance needs, coordinating repairs and follow up.
  • Understand and comply with loss prevention policies and procedures to protect guests and associates.
  • Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assist in supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space, maintaining quality standards.
  • Manage linen inventory and guest supplies, assisting in the ordering of supplies as necessary.
  • Supervise Housekeeping and all related areas in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
  • Observe service behaviors of employees and provide feedback to individuals, continuously striving to improve service performance.
  • Handle guest problems and complaints, seeking assistance from the supervisor as necessary.
  • Assist in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees, using feedback to drive improvement.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional service.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED with one year of experience in housekeeping or a related professional area is required. Alternatively, a two year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with no work experience required will be considered. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. The ability to work effectively with team members across departments including Front Desk and Engineering is important.
