Key Responsibilities
- Batch, mix, fill, label, and package products according to production schedules and quality standards.
- Operate machinery safely and in line with standard operating procedures, reporting any equipment issues immediately.
- Prepare and pack customer orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and proper packaging.
- Receive and store raw materials and finished goods, checking deliveries against paperwork and organising inventory.
- Assist with stock control and inventory counts, helping to maintain accurate records.
- Load and unload deliveries using manual handling techniques or forklift if licensed.
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organised warehouse and production area, reporting hazards or quality concerns to supervisors.
What You Need to Qualify
Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments is essential. You must be physically fit and capable of manual handling including lifting up to 20 kilograms, standing, and walking for extended periods. Strong attention to detail is required to ensure product quality and order accuracy. A proactive, team focused attitude and a reliable, punctual work ethic are essential. A forklift licence is highly regarded, or willingness to obtain one. Experience handling chemicals or hazardous materials is highly regarded. Basic computer skills are a plus. No formal degree is required. You must have the right to work in New Zealand.
Salary and Benefits
The hourly rate for this Factory Operator position ranges from 26 to 30 New Zealand dollars per hour based on experience, which aligns with current market rates for production roles in East Tamaki, Auckland.
